SLS PA: Celebrating Outgoing Head of School with “Mr. Davis Day”
EAS
The St. Luke’s Parents’ Association worked in secret to organize a surprise with students and faculty for our retiring Head of School: “Mr. Davis Day!” Volunteers arrived early to school on Tuesday, May 24 to put up yard signs and banners, and to hand out Mark Davis fans to students, faculty and staff. Associate Head of School Julia Gabriele and Mark’s wife, Elisabeth Evans, in conjunction with the facilities crew headed by Darrell Maier were able to delay Mark’s arrival until everyone could take their place along the path leading to the front entrance. A very surprised Mark was cheered and greeted all the way to the school entrance by students, faculty and staff. He was met at the entrance of the school by PA presidents Amy DiTeodoro & Liz DeFilippo and presented with traditional senior day gifts of a presentation plaque (sports), white roses (theater) and his very own cardboard cutout. It was a wonderful celebration of Mark’s warm presence and dynamic leadership.
